North East Team of Bhajanpura Police apprehended two desperate snatchers, recovers Mobile Phones and Motorcycles Used
In a major development, the Bhajanpura Police arrested two desperate snatchers and recovered two-button actuated knives, five snatched mobile phones, and a motorcycle used in the commission of the crime.
New Delhi: In a major development, the Bhajanpura Police arrested two desperate snatchers and recovered two-button actuated knives, five snatched mobile phones, and a motorcycle used in the commission of the crime. The accused have been identified as Shahbaz (24), and Mohd Wasim (25). After the investigation, Police did not find any previous criminal record on Wasim, but the accused Shahbaz had previous criminal involvements.
According to Devesh Kumar Mahla, The Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police-I, North East District, New Delhi, “ On 9th of March, a police team comprising ASI Satender, HC Ashwani, HC Anil, and Const. Arun under the supervision of SHO/Bhajanpura, while patrolling in the area at about 09:00 PM reached near PC Jewellers C-Block, Yamuna Vihar. The police team noticed two persons sitting on a motorcycle, a Honda Shine. The Police found the bike and the individuals in a suspicious condition.
When the Police interrogated the suspects, they started to run in different directions. The alert police, however, chased and overpowered them after a brief scuffle. Their identity was established as Shahbaaz (24) and Mohd Wasim (25). During the cursory search, one button-actuated knife and 03 mobile phones were recovered from the possession of Shahbaaz, and one button-actuated knife and 02 mobile were recovered from the Mohd. Wasim. Accordingly, 02 cases vide FIR Nos. 319/22 dated 10/04/22 U/s 25/54/59 Arms Act & 102 Cr. PC and FIR No. 320/22 dated 10/04/22 U/s 25/54/59 Arms Act & 102 Cr. PC, PS Bhajanpura, Delhi were registered, both were apprehended and an investigation was taken up.
On sustained interrogation, they confessed to their crime and revealed their involvements in other cases also. Further, it surfaced that Shahbaaz was released on bail from jail two days back and he is previously involved in more than 20 criminal cases. After his release, he again started committing crimes. All mobile phones have been linked with concerned FIRs. Further investigation into the case is in progress.
