North East Delhi Police arrested notorious burglar, female drug peddler
Dayalpur police station in North-East Delhi has arrested a notorious burglar and recovered more than half a dozen items including a Lenovo laptop, 50 boxes of DVD writer, 90 kgs aluminium, one pair silver anklet (pajeb), one inverter battery, one indane gas cylinder and 8 bundles wire of computer with a plastic bag.
While investigating a case, Police team comprising HC Nafees Ahmad, Const. Rohit Palsania and Const. Vineet under the supervision of SHO/Dayalpur scanned and analysed the CCTV footage of the nearby vicinity of the area.
“Technical as well manual surveillance had also been deployed. On 08.02.22 based on secret information a trap was laid and on the instance of an informer, a person was apprehended under the Gokalpuri Flyover. During the cursory search, a Laptop make Lenovo was recovered from his possession for which he could not reply satisfactorily,” Sanjay Kumar Sain. DCP, North-East Delhi, said.
He added, “On further examination, his identity was established as Musahid, resident of Subash Mohalla, North Ghonda, Delhi. On interrogation, he confessed to his crime and disclosed his involvements in multiple cases of house/night burglary. On his instance, a raid was conducted and the above-mentioned items were recovered.”
DCP Sain said, “In another case in Nand Nagari, during evening patrolling on 08.02.2022, SI Bintu Sharma, Const. Lal Chand and L/Const. Meenakshi noticed a lady delivering something in white polythene to a boy in lieu of cash.”
Seeing the police team, that boy ran away and the lady hurriedly hid the white polythene in her clothes and tried to enter the house but was stopped by the alert police team.
Immediately senior officers were informed regarding the incident. In the presence of ACP/Nand Nagri, adhering to the mandatory provisions of NDPS ACT, the search of the lady was conducted.
During the search, white polythene containing psychotropic substance smack was found to be 10.4 grams after measuring on a weighing scale and Rs. 250/- cash was recovered from her possession.
Accordingly, a case was registered and after obtaining due permission from the Duty MM the lady was arrested. “Efforts are being made to identify the source. Further investigation in the case is under progress,” he added.
