Narendra Modi sets out for US, direct flight to avoid Afghanistan
India looks for permission from Pakistan regarding the usage of Pakistan's airspace for PM Modi’s flight to the US, for which a nod was given by Islamabad.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s non-stop flight to the US on Wednesday, 22nd September will fly over Pakistan’s airspace to keep away from Afghanistan. Modi has started off on a three-day visit to the US on Wednesday where he will address the UN General Assembly and attend the Quad Summit as well as hold a bilateral meet with the US president at the White House.
India had sought permission from Pakistan related to the usage of Pakistan's airspace for PM Modi's flight to the US, which a nod was given by Islamabad. Pakistan previously avoided the permission of President Ram Nath Kovind and PM Modi to use Pakistan's airspace thrice to travel to foreign countries in 2019 after India canceled Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.
