Narendra Modi : Hybrid learning system should be developed for school children
The PM was presiding over a high-level meeting to review the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP). According to an official statement, PM Modi said that the new policy is being launched with the objectives of access, equity, inclusivity and quality.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday pitched for developing a hybrid system of online and offline learning for school children to avoid excessive exposure to technology. PM Modi said that the database maintained by Anganwadi centers should be seamlessly integrated with the school records as children go there from Anganwadi. He emphasized on the use of indigenously developed toys to develop conceptual skills in the students, the statement said. He also suggested that secondary schools with science laboratories should connect with farmers in their area for soil testing. Appreciating the new education policy, he said that several transformational reforms have been initiated with special efforts to trace out-of-school children and bring them back into the mainstream and the introduction of multiple entry and exit in higher education. Modi was apprised that the work of preparing the National Curriculum Framework under the guidance of the National Steering Committee is in progress. The statement said that innovations have been made in school education like enhancing educational quality in Bal Vatika, Nipun Bharat, Vidya Pravesh, examination reform and art-integrated education, toy-based pedagogy, which leads to holistic development of children and they can learn better.
