Narendra Modi Arrives in Philadelphia: Prime Minister Narendra Modi touched down in the United States on Saturday for a three-day trip. His first stop was the Quad Leaders' Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, hosted by outgoing US President Joe Biden.
Alongside some heavyweight global leaders, Modi’s hitting up Biden’s own stomping grounds for this big meet-up.
Next on Modi's agenda is New York. He’s set to address a massive community event in Long Island on September 22. Then, on the 23rd, he’ll take the stage at the UN's Summit of the Future before making his way back to India. His talk to the Indian diaspora will happen at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in New York.
Taking to X, PM Modi on Saturday said, “I will be on a visit to USA, where I will take part in various programmes. I will attend the Quad Summit being hosted by President Biden at his hometown Wilmington.”
“I look forward to the deliberations at the Summit. I will also be having a bilateral meeting with President Biden. In New York, I will be attending the Summit of the Future. I will also be addressing a community programme in the city.”
The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, or Quad ropes in Australia, India, Japan, and the US. This year, Biden’s playing host for these leaders and will be having one-on-one chats with each.

It's the first time Biden’s invited a foreign leader to Wilmington, showing just how chummy he is with Modi, Australian PM Anthony Albanese, and Japanese PM Fumio Kishida.
The gang has met six times so far, with four of those being face-to-face since Biden bumped up the Quad to a top-tier forum in 2021. This summit marks Biden’s final Quad gathering, a group he’s put a lot of stock in since day one as president.
PM Modi's headed to the US, he’s all set to speak at the 'Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 23. The big theme? 'Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow.' Pretty lofty, huh?
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is calling it a "once in a generation UN Summit." And it’s a big deal, especially with the UN’s 80th birthday coming up in 2025.

At this summit, countries will agree on the Pact of the Future. This includes cool stuff like the Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations.
This summit isn’t just happening in a vacuum. It’s right before the annual UN General Assembly high-level week and comes at a time when the world's dealing with massive issues.
Think the Israel-Hezbollah conflict and the war in Ukraine, plus long-standing problems like climate change and global inequality.
According to UN insiders, the Pact of the Future is going to shake things up with some "groundbreaking" ideas. One major highlight? Reforming the Security Council to make it more relevant and reflective of today's world. Exciting times ahead!
