Former Mumbai Police Chief Param Bir Singh, accused in the recovery case and declared a fugitive from the court, has finally reached Mumbai. Parambir Singh, who has been missing for several months, has finally come to the fore. According to news agency ANI, Parambir Singh has reached Mumbai on Thursday, November 25.
Earlier, Parambir Singh had told his location as Chandigarh. The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday granted protection from arrest to former Mumbai police chief Parambir Singh after his lawyer said he was not absconding, and was in India.
Notice has also been issued by the Supreme Court to CBI and Maharashtra DGP in this matter. Under this, action against Parambir Singh has been put on hold for the time being. In fact, Parambir Singh had accused former Mumbai Home Minister Anil Deshmukh of corruption and extortion. But in the meantime, on July 22, a case was registered at Marine Drive police station in Mumbai against Parambir Singh, five more policemen and two others for allegedly demanding Rs 15 crore from a builder. Crime Branch is investigating this matter. In this case, a non-bailable warrant was issued against Parambir Singh, but he went missing.
