Monsoon Update 2022: IMD's new deadline for the entry of monsoon in Kerala
According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon will knock prematurely in Kerala. But, not only did Asani change its course later, but the pre-monsoon rains that were expected over central and eastern India also did not happen. Monsoon is cloudy in many parts of Kerala.
The wait for the news of the arrival of monsoon in the country has increased a bit. Contrary to the earlier forecast of the southwest monsoon reaching Kerala on May 27, the Meteorological Department said that the monsoon could reach anytime by June 1 and conditions are being continuously monitored.
The news of the arrival of South-West monsoon in Kerala is eagerly awaited for agriculture across the country. According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Department, conditions are favorable for further advance of Monsoon into some more parts of Arabian Sea, entire Maldives and Lakshadweep areas during the next 48 hours. Conditions are likely to become favorable for the monsoon to reach Kerala during this week.
The delay in the onset of monsoon, a senior scientist of the department said that the forecast of May 27 had also predicted four days back and forth.
