MDMK MP Ganeshamurthi Suspected Suicide Attempt Ends in Tragic Death: On Thursday morning, Avinashi Ganeshamurthi, the MDMK MP from Erode, died from a cardiac arrest after allegedly attempting suicide. On March 24, he was admitted to the hospital.

His critical condition was transferred to a private hospital in Coimbatore after he was rushed to an Erode hospital on Sunday. During his treatment, he was placed on ECHO support.

Three-term MDMK MP Ganeshamurthi was a prominent member.

He had expressed his dissatisfaction over the party's refusal to give him a ticket for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Erode constituency.

MDMK and DMK decided to field Durai Vaiko, the son of MDMK general secretary Vaiko, as their candidate.
