There was an argument between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and BSF officers in Kolkata on Saturday. According to media reports, Home Minister Amit Shah was also present during this period. This incident took place during the Eastern Zonal Counseling meeting in Howrah. Mamta is angry with giving BSF the right to act up to 50 kilometers inside the border. Mamta says that this is causing problems to the common people.
Under the new law, the central government has empowered the BSF to take action in an area up to 50 kilometers from the International Border. There will be no need for a magistrate's order or warrant for this. Earlier BSF could take action only within 15 km. Mamta is angry with this change. He says that common people are getting upset due to this. BSF has more power, which people and officers.
