Maharashtra government comes up with tighter norms to battle with Omnicron
The Omnicron cases are increasing at a dramatic rate, and the state of Maharashtra is still on the top amongst the list where the number of Omnicron cases are the maximum across India. In order to fight with the elevated increase, the state of Maharashtra has released stricter norms to fight the super spreader variant that is forecasted as the root cause of bringing the third wave.
The Omnicron cases are increasing at a dramatic rate, and the state of Maharashtra is still on the top amongst the list where the number of Omnicron cases are the maximum across India. In order to fight with the elevated increase, the state of Maharashtra has released stricter norms to fight the super spreader variant that is forecasted as the root cause of bringing the third wave.
In the initial guidelienes the number of people in wedding and funerals were constrained between 100 - 200. However as the number of cases are increasing day by day, the state government has decided to keep the number of people as 50 in marriages, social, political or social gatherings. For funerals, the number of people that can has been limited to 20.
In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra has reported 8067 fresh Covid infections out of which 4 cases are of the Omnicron variant. This rapid increase is the reason behind the stringent guidelines that is aimed at curbing and breaking the chain of infection. Mumbai Police also issued an order under section 144 of the CrPC, prohibiting people from visiting beaches, open grounds, sea faces, promenades, gardens, parks or similar public places between 5 pm and 5 am daily from today till January 15.
