Lalu Yadav’s Proposal to Nitish Kumar for Alliance Fuels Speculation; Tejashwi Yadav Responds

Lalu Yadav’s Proposal to Nitish Kumar for Alliance Fuels Speculation: This year, Bihar is gearing up for Assembly elections and just as the poll season begins, the corridors of the political world are making rounds with statements and counter-statements.
On January 1, while talking to a YouTube channel, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav said that "doors are open" for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar if he wants to rejoin the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan).
This statement is especially remarkable coming from Lalu because his son, Tejashwi Yadav, recently gave a completely different statement.
During the interview, Lalu said, “Nitish Kumar can join us and work together." He reiterated that his doors remain open for both the public and Nitish Kumar. If Nitish decides to return, he would be welcomed with no issues in working together again, according to Lalu.
When pressmen sought his comments, Nitish Kumar replied, "Kya bol rahen hain...chhodhiye na." (What are you talking about? Just let it go.)
Responding to Lalu’s comments, Union Minister Lallan Singh said “We are with the NDA and with full firmness. I cannot react to what people say – there is freedom of expression, people can say whatever they want."
Lalu Yadav’s son, too, echoed the same, saying: “We have already spoken our mind. When journalists ask, Lalu Ji might have said it to cool things down, what is the problem with it?"
Earlier Tejashwi had remarked that even if Nitish Kumar wishes to return back, he would not be taken back. He added that bringing Nitish back to would be equivalent to hurting themselves. With Lalu's latest statement, however, political speculation in Bihar has once again gained momentum.
Notably, CM Nitish Kumar was supposed to meet BJP president JP Nadda in Delhi on Monday during a visit, however, plans changed by evening and Nitish Kumar returned to Patna without meeting JP Nadda.
