Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has taken a dig at the dilapidated and poor condition of school buildings in the constituency of Satish Chandra Dwivedi, who is the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Primary education in Uttar Pradesh.
Kejriwal has mocked a decision taken by the Basic Shiksha Adhikari of Siddharthanagar Rajendra Singh. Singh has reportedly issued a direction that no one will take any photograph of the school building.
Akhilesh Pati Tripathi, who is an MLA from Aam Aadmi Party from Delhi’s Model Town constituency, visited Siddharthanagar constituency on December 25 and highlighted the poor infrastructure and lack of basic amenities in primary schools.
— Arvind Kejriwal (@ArvindKejriwal) December 26, 2020
आप से नहीं होगा। दिल्ली आइये। हम आपको अपने स्कूल भी दिखायेंगे और वहाँ आपकी फ़ोटो भी लेंगे https://t.co/wjqScJHfJz
Reports say that this prompted Singh to circulate a message in the WhatsApp group of block education officials that no outsiders should be allowed to take any pictures of the school buildings.
After the report was published in the local Hindi Newspapers, AAP leader Sanjay Singh tweeted it from his Twitter handle and criticised the decision.
Taunting at the poor education infrastructure, Sanjay Singh wrote that UP CM did a study on Hindu-Muslim but in the examination, he had to face questions related to the Kejriwal model. Singh, in a veiled manner, alleged that the UP government has the communal agenda.
This gave an opportunity to Delhi’s CM Kejriwal to further taunt and ask the UP CM if his government has issued any such order that no one can take pictures of the schools' buildings.
“Are your schools so bad?” Kejriwal asked. He added, “You can’t do it. Come to Delhi. We will take you on a visit to schools and allow you to take pictures too?”
