Karnataka Govt to reopen primary schools

The government of Karnataka will resume offline classes for elementary school students (grades I to V) after the current vacation in Dussehra. Schools closed almost 20 months ago due to the coronavirus pandemic. Karnataka Education, B. Nagesh, said the government would also proceed midday meals prepared in schools at lunchtime from the same day. "The department is ready and our officials have taken all measures to resume classes in elementary schools and distribute lunch," he said in Bengaluru.
“However, we are still in discussions with the Covid19 Technical Advisory Committee to finalize various guidelines to be followed once the schools are fully reopened,” Karnataka Education Minister said that.

The Association of Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes (PHANA), which previously warned the government against reopening schools, also suggested that grades I to V could be opened even without mentioning a significant increase in Covid19 among school-age children.
