Jyotiraditya Scindia announced, 'Jharkhand to have 14 new air routes and three more airports'
Jyotiraditya Scindia said: “Jharkhand will soon have five airports. After Ranchi and Deoghar, we will establish airports in Bokaro, Jamshedpur and Dumka.
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday announced that Jharkhand is going to get three more airports. He also said that 14 new air routes will be made available in the state to increase air connectivity. Scindia said these things before leaving for Jharkhand with PM Modi. He said, “Jharkhand will soon have five airports. After Ranchi and Deoghar, we will set up airports at Bokaro, Jamshedpur and Dumka. Also, 14 new air routes will be made available to increase connectivity in the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Deoghar airport built on 657 acres at a cost of Rs 401 crore. He also flagged off the Deoghar-Kolkata flight of airline company IndiGo from the new airport. Airbus A320 aircraft can also take off from the 2500-metre long runway of the airport. PM Modi had laid the foundation stone of Deoghar airport on 25 May 2018. The Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth about Rs 16,800 crore in Jharkhand.
Inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of several development projects for Jharkhand, PM Modi said that these new projects will lead to the development of eastern India. The Prime Minister said that efforts are being made for the last eight years to strengthen the rail, road and air infrastructure in the region. He said that the new airport will give a boost to tourism.
