An anti-encroachment drive is underway in New Delhi’s Jahangirpuri which witnessed violence on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. Now the administration has announced to run a bulldozer on the illegal construction of those accused of violence.
New Delhi: A breaking news is underway from New Delhi's Jahangirpuri which witnessed a communal attack on the Hindu Festival Hanuman Jayanti when stones were pelted on the procession. An anti-encroachment drive is underway in New Delhi’s Jahangirpuri which witnessed violence. Now the administration has announced to run a bulldozer on the illegal construction of those accused of violence. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and AAP leader Amanatullah have protested this decision of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation. Not only this, but Owaisi has also raised questions on the role of Kejriwal regarding this.
Bulldozers have started to run on the illegal properties of the accused of violence in Delhi's Jahangirpuri on Wednesday. The North Delhi Municipal Corporation says that this action is being taken on illegal properties and encroachments. In view of this action, about 1500 soldiers have been deployed. The North Delhi Municipal Corporation has announced to run bulldozers on the illegal properties of the accused of violence on April 20 and 21. The BJP had also demanded to run a bulldozer on the illegal construction of those accused of violence. Earlier such action was taken in UP, MP, and Gujarat.
“The anti-encroachment drive will take place across Delhi. Earlier also we had requested security for the drive but due to some reasons the action was not taken”, says Raja Iqbal Singh, Mayor, North Delhi Municipal Corporation.
BJP spokesperson Shahzad Jai Hind has claimed by tweeting that Ansar and Tahir, the masterminds of the Delhi violence, have links with AAP. He wrote, "Owaisi and Amanatullah are playing the Muslim victim card when action is being taken against the illegal possession of the accused. The North Delhi Municipal Corporation has decided to run bulldozers on illegal constructions in the Jahangirpuri area. Regarding this, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation has written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), North West, demanding the deployment of 400 Delhi Police personnel to handle law and order. On behalf of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, it has been said that a campaign will be launched on 20 and 21 April to demolish the illegal construction in the Jahangirpuri area.
