The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) recently released a circular where it mentioned that the International Flights will be suspended till February 18 due to the increase in the Covid Numbers because of the Omnicron variant. With this, the continuation of the International Flights won't be there in the near future. However, the option of Air-Bubbles, which is currently there for 30 countries, is available.
According to the official website of the Civil Aviation, "Transport Bubbles” or “Air Travel Arrangements” are temporary arrangements between two countries aimed at restarting commercial passenger services when regular international flights are suspended as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. They are reciprocal in nature, meaning airlines from both countries enjoy similar benefits."
Just before Omicron variant wrecked havoc, the government had announced a gradual resumption of the regular flights from December 15, 2021. However, as of now there is no clarity as to when will the operations resume. The DGCA also added, "In view of the evolving global scenario with the emergence of new variants of concern, the situation is being watched closely in consultation with all stakeholders and an appropriate decision indicating the effective date of resumption of scheduled commercial international passenger services shall be notified in due course."
