Indian students can continue their studies in Hungary: Hungarian PM to Modi
“Prime Minister Orban conveyed his best wishes to the Indian medical students evacuated from Ukraine, and said that they could choose to continue their studies in Hungary if they wished. Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for this generous offer,” the statement said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister of Hungry for helping Indian citizens to evacuate from the strife-torn Ukraine.
Thousands of Indian citizens were stuck in Ukraine when Russia attacked it on February 24 and the war started between the two countries.
“Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi spoke on phone today with His Excellency Viktor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary,” the PMO informed in a statement.
It added, “The two leaders discussed the ongoing situation in Ukraine and agreed on the need to ensure an immediate ceasefire and a return to diplomacy and dialogue.”
It also informed that the Prime Minister conveyed his warm thanks to Orban and to the Hungarian government for facilitating the evacuation of more than 6000 Indian citizens through the Ukraine - Hungary border.

It added, “The leaders agreed to remain in touch on the evolving situation and to continue their efforts to encourage an end to the conflict.”
The Indian government has also started a rescue mission called Operation Ganga under which it is rescuing all the medical students and Indian citizens stuck in various parts of Ukraine due to war.
According to the reports, almost all the Indians have already been rescued and efforts are on to trace if there are more to be evacuated.
