India bans 54 mobile apps

The Government of India has once again taken a big and tough step in the digital world. Steps have been taken to crack down on the gimmicks of the neighboring country China. The banned apps were found allegedly indulging in activities endangering the integrity and sovereignty of the country. They were found to pose a serious threat to the security of the country. The Ministry of Information Technology has issued interim directions to ban these 54 apps. The ministry was requested in this regard from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The apps under the ban also include popular apps like Beauty Camera, Sweet Selfie HD, Beauty Camera, Selfie Camera, Rise of Kingdoms: Lost Crusade, Viva Video Editor, Tencent XRiver, Apart from these, Garena Free Fire – Illuminate, Astacraft, FancyU Pro, MoonChat, Barcode Scanner – QR Code Scan and Leica Cam have also been banned by the government.
In the year 2020 also many major Chinese apps were banned. In June 2020, the government banned 59 Chinese apps like Tiktok and UC Browser. In June 2020, the Indian government lifted the ban on the Chinese app after the tension between the armies of the two countries in Ladakh.
