Heavy rain expected in Uttarakhand for two days, IMD's red alert

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert regarding the forecast of torrential rains in Uttarakhand on July 19 and 20. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of extremely heavy rains on July 19 and 20 in seven out of 13 districts of the state. Meteorologists believe that the next four days can be heavy for Uttarakhand, in view of which Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has asked all the district magistrates to be alert and alert.

IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts of Uttarakhand, while heavy to very heavy at isolated places in the remaining districts. Heavy rain is predicted. The threat of floods and landslides has deepened after warnings of heavy rain.

Most of the rivers in the state, including the Ganges and its tributaries, are in spate and in many places their water level has reached near the warning mark. In view of the warning of heavy rains, Dhami has directed all the District Magistrates and Divisional Commissioners to be ready at all times to deal with any challenge related to the disaster. Dhami has appealed to the tourists and the general public not to go towards the rivers and rainy drains in view of the forecast of heavy rains.
