The Left Democratic Front (LDF) government of Kerala has removed state Governor Arif Mohammad Khan from the post of Chancellor of Kalamandalam Deemed University, Kerala. The LDF government has changed the rules of the university to remove him from this post. After the removal of Arif Mohammad Khan from the post of Chancellor of the university, this responsibility will now be handed over to another eminent person associated with art and culture.

However, according to the website of Kerala Kalamandalam University, Arif Mohammad Khan is currently the chancellor. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan had sought the resignation of the Vice Chancellors of 9 universities of Kerala a few days ago. The Governor had ordered all the Vice Chancellors to resign before 11.30 am on Monday. After this order, the tension between the Kerala government and the governor had increased. The Vice Chancellors had refused to resign despite the Governor's instructions. After this, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan alleged that the Vice Chancellors have been denied fair justice.
