Gokalpuri Murder Case Solved Within 48 Hours, Two Shooters Arrested
According to a senior police official, Azeem, a resident of Bhagirathi Vihar ( New Delhi), was sitting on the pavement with his companions when two individuals approached, shot him in the chest, and left.
On June 26, 2012, at approximately 6 p.m., a PCR call was received regarding a shooting at Ali Builder wali Gali, Gokalpuri, Delhi, in which one person was injured by a bullet.
When police arrived on the scene in response to the call, they discovered that when Azeem S/o Ishtiyak, Bhagirathi Vihar, Delhi, age 34, was sitting on the pavement with his friends, two young boys suddenly appeared, shot him in the chest, and fled.
When he was shifted to the hospital, doctors declared him brought dead. Azeem worked as a laborer in a shoe factory. An FIR was registered under IPC 302/34 and 25/27 Arms Act at PS Gokulpuri.
An investigation team under the supervision of Sh. Naresh Khanka ( ACP/Operations/NED) was formed which solved the case in the record 48 hours and arrested two shooters. One is named Sameer(20) and another as Faisal(20).
During interrogation, both accused admitted to their roles in the murder of Azeem and claimed that they were recruited by a man named Waqeel for Arms and Ammunition as well as Rs. 2.5 lac to be paid when the task was completed. Waqeel, the mastermind of the crime, had a long-standing grudge towards Azeem.
According to the press release, The police squad began both technical and manual surveillance right away. CCTV footage from over 30 cameras was analyzed in detail to determine the accused's path before and after committing the crime. After a long search, the crew discovered a clear and unmasked image of one of the suspects about 2 kilometers from the crime scene. Local inputs were also acquired, and finally, a person's identity was determined.
Two country-made pistols and 4 live cartridges were also recovered from the accused. Both the accused don’t have any criminal records whereas the person named Waqeel is wanted in an attempt to murder case.
