Anand Subramanian, a former Group Operating Officer (GOO) of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in 2018 in connection with its probe into exchange rigging.
The CBI had earlier questioned Subramaniam for three days, ending the inquiry on February 21. She has already questioned former MD-CEO Chitra Ramakrishna and former CEO Ravi Narayan. While Ramakrishna was questioned last Friday, Narayan was questioned last Saturday.
According to the CBI, the inquiry was being conducted on the basis of a SEBI report which stated that Ramakrishna was sharing confidential NSE information with a "Himalayan yogi" and prompted him to appoint Subramaniam in violation of the rules.
