According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Jaishankar is on a visit to Bhutan at the invitation of his Bhutanese counterpart Lyonpo Tandi Dorji. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, the Foreign Minister will also meet King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck. Simultaneously, S Jaishankar will also call on Bhutan's Prime Minister Lotay Tshering and Foreign Minister Tandi Dorji.
The Ministry of External Affairs has said that this visit will help in taking the friendship and cooperation between the two countries to a new dimension. The ministry further said that there is immense trust, goodwill and mutual understanding between the two countries, which has been organized to further strengthen this visit.
