American actress, activist, and executive producer Susan Sarandon is the latest among international icons who have lent support to farmers' protests in India.
The Hollywood actress, who is a recipient of several prestigious international awards including the Oscar, has said that she stood in solidarity with the farmers in India.

Her tweet has received immense popularity with 33.8 k likes, 12.5 k retweets, and 2.3k comments. Her support for the ongoing protest will garner a global appeal in their favour.
Earlier, pop star Rihanna, climate activist Greta Thunberg, model Mia Khalifa and the niece of US vice president Kamala Harris, Meena Harris, took to their Twitter handles and voiced their supports in favour of farmers in India.
Rihanna’s tweet caused a huge controversy after many Indian film and cricket stars viewed their opinion in support of or against her tweet.
Even the Ministry of External Affairs had to come out with a statement against the global support.
Besides, the Delhi Police has also lodged an FIR alleging an international controversy to promote enmity among various groups and people in India.
Thunberg had tweeted a toolkit in which she had asked people to extend their support. The Delhi Police has launched an investigation against the toolkit.
Despite FIR, Thunberg maintained her support and said that she stood by farmers in their peaceful protest.
