Though the Supreme Court has asked the government to respond to the questions raised by the farmers in their petition before the apex court, the farmers are in no mood to relent.
They have intensified their protests and have started blocking other highways such as Delhi-Jaipur Highway which provides vital connectivity between the two states.
It is one of the busiest highways of the country and farmers want to pressurize the government to listen to them by taking all these steps.
Earlier on December 11, many farmers’ unions including Bharatiya Kisan Union filed petitions in Supreme Court and demanded that the three farms' laws be withdrawn immediately.
The unions have alleged that these three laws are anti-farmers and the sole purpose of enacting them was to benefit some corporate companies.
The Supreme Court issued notice to the government and asked it to respond to their allegations.
The farmers' leaders have also rejected the allegations of the Centre that the issue has have been politicized and it is mainly the opposition parties which have led the protest.
After BJP won the Panchayat elections in Rajasthan, it believes that the three laws have farmers' support and the protest are being orchestrated by the opposition parties.
However, the blockage of major highways is impacting lives as supplies of many essential commodities are expected to hit.
There is no solution in the sight amidst the standoff between the government and farmers as the two parties are adamant on their stand.
Bharatiya Kisan Union has pleaded to everyone to support and the protest to strengthen farmers’ voices.
