Famous lyricist Maya Govind passed away at the age of 82

Veteran lyricist Maya Govind passed away on Thursday at 9.30 am after a prolonged illness. She was 82 years old and had been ill for the past two years. In January this year, she was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. Her son Ajay told that his last rites will be performed at Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle West, Mumbai at 3 pm today. Maya wrote songs for more than 350 films.

Maya Govinda was the only lyricist in the film industry who has written many books apart from songs for films and TV serials. In Hindi cinema, she had made a place in the hearts of people with her talent, which will always be missed.

Not only Bollywood, but Maya also showed her talent in the world of TV and wrote songs, couplets and verses for memorable serials like 'Mahabharata'. Apart from this, she showed her writing skills in serials like 'Vishnu Purana', 'Kismat', 'Draupadi', and 'Aap Beeti'. According to the report, her last rites will be performed from Pawan Hans, Vile Parle West after 3 pm on Thursday.
