Encounter in Kashmir's Shopian district

Security forces killed two Lashkar-linked terrorists on Saturday in Shopian district of Kashmir. The encounter took place in the Kilbal area. According to the Kashmir Zone Police, the operation is still going on here. The killed terrorists are said to be local, but they have not been identified.

A police official said that there was information about the presence of terrorists in Kilbal in South Kashmir. After this the security forces started a cordon and search operation. When the jawans were conducting searches in the area, the terrorists opened fire on them.

Two terrorists were killed in retaliation. Both were members of Lashkar-e-Taiba's shadow group The Resistance Front (TRF). Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the encounter site.
