Eight candidates of BJP and three candidates supported by Samajwadi Party from Uttar Pradesh elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha
Election Officer Brij Bhushan Dubey handed over the election certificates to all the members elected for the Rajya Sabha member.
Voting will not be held in Uttar Pradesh on June 10 to elect 11 members of the Rajya Sabha. All the 11 members of Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh have been declared elected unopposed. Twelve people had filed their nominations on 11 seats, but have also provided certificates after declaring eight members of the Bharatiya Janata Party and three members of the Samajwadi Party and their backers elected unopposed as an independent's letter was rejected. By the way, voting for 11 seats of Rajya Sabha was proposed in Uttar Pradesh on June 10.
Brij Bhushan Dubey, the Returning Officer of Rajya Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, announced that eight members of the BJP and three members of the Samajwadi Party and supported have been elected unopposed. In the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Sabha Biennial Election-2022, Special Secretary and Returning Officer of the Legislative Assembly Brij Bhushan Dubey declared all the 11 candidates elected unopposed after the deadline for withdrawal of nominations was over.
Dubey said that after the expiry of the last date for withdrawal of nominations by three o'clock in the day, all the 11 candidates were declared elected unopposed for the post of members of the Rajya Sabha.Those who have been declared elected unopposed are Dr. Laxmikant Bajpai, Surendra Kumar Nagar, Dr. K Laxman, Mithlesh Kumar, Babu Ram Nishad, Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, Darshana Singh and Sangeeta Yadav of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Along with them, Javed Ali of Samajwadi Party, Kapil Sibal, an independent supported by Samajwadi Party and Jayant Chaudhary of Rashtriya Lok Dal have also been declared elected unopposed.
