DGCA Issues New Guidelines for Vertiports: On Friday, an aviation authority, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) declared new guidelines for vertiports that can be useful for operating vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.
The Indian government is planning to promote the use of eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft as a part of modern air mobility solutions.
Amid the consultations of the stakeholders, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has announced a circular to develop and operate the vertiport as aircraft so that like aircraft it is able to vertical take-offs and landings.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) declared new guidelines offer the requirements needed to promote vertiport operations which include standards and visual aids to help with landings.
The new guidelines also state the battery charging specifications and measures to take in times of emergencies. According to the DGCA, the guidelines will provide site clearance and authorization after the construction of vertiport.
