Delhi Police is probing a sensational case of rape of a minor in the busy central district of the country’s capital. A 60-year-old former intelligence officer, who was reportedly working with Intelligence Bureau (IB) has allegedly raped a girl of 17 years of age.
He called the girl in a hotel in Karol Bagh on the pretext of offering her a job. When the girl reached the hotel, he called her into her room to discuss her professional role and remuneration among other things.
Finding her alone in the room, he forced her for a sexual act which the girl strongly opposed. But the Ex-IB officer committed rape with her.
The Delhi Police has said that the girl was raped only on the pretext of offering her a job. The victim went home and narrated the horror with the family members. She has filed a complaint with the Karol Bagh police station which is carrying out further investigation in the matter.
The Delhi police have invoked The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act), which was passed in 2012 with stringent provisions to deal with rising cases of child sexual abuse in India.
According to the police, the accused is absconding after committing the crime and they are making all efforts to arrest him.
