Whereas in 2018, insurance companies paid hospitals at the rate of Rs 39,000 on an average per patient. Mayur Trivedi, Associate Professor, Indian Institute of Public Health, Delhi, says that this report has been prepared on the basis of pre-epidemic and post-epidemic data.
