COVID-19: Number of Covid patients not increasing in city hospitals
India recorded around 91,000 COVID cases and 325 deaths on Thursday, 6 January while the daily positivity rate was around 6.5 percent. The number of active COVID cases in the country is 2,85,401, and the number of Omicron cases is reportedly 2,630.

Major cities of the country are witnessing the most severe increase but the same jump is not visible when it comes to COVID-induced hospitalizations.
Mumbai and Delhi lead the daily COVID tally. Whereas Mumbai registered more than 15,000 cases in a span of 24 hours on Wednesday, January 5. On January 6, 15,097 cases were registered in Delhi. On Wednesday, 2,813 new cases were registered in Maharashtra's Pune district. Other big cities are also not far behind. Kolkata reported 6,170 Covid-19 cases on Wednesday while Bengaluru and Chennai recorded 3,605 and 2,481 cases.
