Covid 19 News: Weird guidelines of the Government of India regarding testing amid the third wave of Corona

A guideline is an indication or outline of a policy. In other words, a guideline is a statement by which action is prescribed. Its purpose is to streamline a particular processes.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) revised its testing criteria on 10 January 2022 for early detection of cases especially in the elderly and persons with co-morbidities.

However, in community settings, recommendations are only to test patients with at least one of the following symptoms: cough, fever, sore throat, loss of taste and/or smell, breathlessness and/or other lung-related symptoms.Lastly, it says that those traveling internationally or visiting India should also done COVID testing.
