Seven persons, including two women, were killed and five were critically injured in a fire that engulfed a three-storied residential building. Sanjay alias Shubham Dixit, accused of setting fire to a multi in Indore's Swarn Bagh Colony, was arrested by the police on Saturday night. 7 people died in this fire. After being caught, the accused confessed to committing the crime. He told that he was in love with a girl living in Multi. Due to a dispute with him, he had set the car on fire. He also broke his arms and legs while trying to escape from the police. After which the police took him to MY Hospital late at night in an injured condition.
The accused told the police, 'I got very upset with a girl named Sana. He did me very wrong. He made me spend a lot. I have always given him money, never asked for it. She always asked for money for something or the other. Sometimes give something, sometimes give something. Later it turns out, that she is making a fool. Engaged with many people. I thought I would never talk to her, so she fell behind me. I just wanted to burn his car seat. Thought I would finish everything after that. I didn't know that something so big would happen.
"I came to know about this on Saturday morning when the same girl got a call. He told that the multi has caught fire. I stayed at home all day. In the evening it came to know that TV has also come. I had no idea what to do. Then spoke to a friend, and I told him that I will surrender."
In this regard, the station in-charge Tehzeeb Qazi told that the mobile of the accused was on till 9:00 pm. And he was constantly talking to his friend whose location was tracked and the accused Sanjay Dixit was arrested by the police near the Niranjanpur intersection in the Lasudia area. After getting the CCTV footage of the incident, it was clear that a white-shirted youth had set the vehicles on fire.
