Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar has alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made the Delhi Government not only notorious for corruption; but also turned Delhi into the “Rape Capital of the Country”.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar has alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made the Delhi Government not only notorious for corruption; but also turned Delhi into the “Rape Capital of the Country”.
He accused the AAP of usurping power in Delhi with the false promise of ending corruption and punishing rapists.
“The latest incident of the gang rape of a 20-year-old girl by illicit liquor sellers at Kasturba Nagar, Ambedkar Park, Vishwas Nagar, Shahdara in East Delhi, bears this out,” Kumar alleged.
Kumar visited the girl’s family, met her father and sister and expressed shock at the dastardly act that took place in the National Capital.
He gave financial help to the girl’s family and demanded immediate financial relief and a job for the girl by the Kejriwal Government. He also demanded the severest punishment to the perpetrators of this barbaric act.
According to Kumar, the girl’s family should get police protection as they are living in mortal fear of the criminals behind this crime. He promised Delhi Congress’ full support in getting them justice.
“If the Arvind Government’s does not provide a job to the girl, the Delhi Congress will get her job in the private sector,” Kumar said.
“This shocking incident took place under the very nose of BJP Government’s Home Ministry and the Delhi Chief Minister, as the girl was not only brutally raped, but her head was tonsured, she was beaten up and was paraded with a foot-wear garland on her,” Kumar alleged.
He added, “Such things could happen only in a lawless, directionless State, which Delhi has now become, as CM Arvind has been busy doing political campaigning in States going for Assembly elections, neglecting Delhi, even when Covid-19 infections and fatalities were rising sharply.
Kumar was accompanied by other leaders such as Delhi Minister Dr Narender Nath, Ex MLAs Jai Kishan and Veer Singh Dhingan, Media vice-chairman Anuj Attrey and Ashok Mehta.
