Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee discusses tea with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday. Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee attended a joint conference of Chief Ministers and Chief Justices of High Courts at Vigyan Bhawan in the presence of Prime Minister Modi.
It is reported that during the discussion on Chai, Mamta spoke separately to PM Modi for some time. Chief Justice of Supreme Court NV Ramana was also present during this. During the inaugural session, the PM said that even today in our country all the proceedings of the High Court and Supreme Court are done in English. We need to encourage local languages in court.
At the same time, he also said that I am confident that the confluence of two sections of the Constitution will prepare the roadmap for an effective and time-bound judicial system in the country. During the conference, Mamta talked about expansion in Rajrahat Newtown of Calcutta High Court.
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived on a two-day visit to Delhi on Friday afternoon amid a tussle with the Center over various issues. Modi and Mamta were seen together on a stage after almost a year. However, Mamata had said a day earlier that she would not meet PM Modi as she would return to Kolkata on Saturday evening to attend May Day and Eid events.
After reaching Delhi, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamta held a meeting with Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal in the evening. The meeting between the two lasted for about 15-20 minutes. However, on what issues were discussed between the two, it is not clear yet.
