CBI questions Satya Pal Malik on allegations of offering him Rs 300 crore bribe

Central probe agency CBI has questioned Satya Pal Malik in connection with allegations in which he claimed that when he was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, he received 300 crores for clearing two files during 23 August 2018 to 30 October 2019. Was offered a bribe of Rs. Let us inform that on the basis of these allegations of Satya Pal Malik, two corruption cases were registered in Jammu and Kashmir in April. According to the report of news agency PTI, the CBI has made this inquiry under the investigation of these cases.
Officials told PTI that the CBI team took details of his comments earlier this week. The inquiry comes after Malik's five-year term as governor ended on October 4. Satya Pal Malik was appointed as the Governor of Bihar in the year 2017. Later in the year 2018, he was sent to Jammu and Kashmir. Article 370 was abrogated in August 2019 during the tenure of Satya Pal Malik in Jammu and Kashmir.

Satyapal Malik had said in a program in Jhunjhunu that after this I was informed by the secretaries of both the departments that this is a scam. The secretaries told me that 'you will get Rs 150 crore for clearing the files but I told them that I have brought five kurta pajamas and will go with them. In April this year, the CBI had registered two FIRs in connection with Malik's allegations. Along with this, Malik had also said that he had canceled both the deals.
