CBI arrested an officer of Defense Accounts Service in bribery case of Rs 10 lakh
The agency took him into custody after it came to the notice that a suspected middleman was allegedly paid Rs 10 lakh to take advantage of the officer. After completing the formalities, he was arrested.
The CBI has arrested an officer of the Defense Accounts Service in an alleged bribery case of Rs 10 lakh. It is alleged that a Jind-based company in Haryana had given this amount to a middleman to get a favorable decision from the 1988 batch officer, officials said, according to news agency PTI. The officer, posted as Integrated Financial Adviser in the South Western Command in Jaipur, was allegedly showing favor to several companies in contracts and clearing their bills.
Officials said the CBI had received information through its sources about the activities of the accused officer. The agency took him into custody after it came to the notice that a suspected middleman was allegedly paid Rs 10 lakh to take advantage of the officer. After completing the formalities, he was arrested.
