The work of the country's first high-speed rail corridor being built between Mumbai to Ahmedabad (Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train) is going on at a fast pace. The work of this first bullet train project is going on in the country with the cooperation of Japan, so Japan is also eyeing this project. This is the reason why Japan's Ambassador Satoshi Suzuki also reached Gujarat with delegation and took stock of the construction site. From Surat to Navsari and Damandiv took stock.
According to officials, the trial of bullet train between Mumbai-Ahmedabad will start in 2026. After this, the country's first bullet train will start running in early 2027. This trial will start in a stretch of about 50 km between Surat to Bilimora. In Gujarat, 99 percent land acquisition work has been completed and construction work is going on at a fast pace. Japanese Ambassador Satoshi Suzuki said that if India wants, Japan is ready to cooperate in other bullet train projects as well.
The country's first bullet train project being built between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is the dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier, the target of completing it was kept 2023 and initially the Railways had also claimed that it would be completed a year ago in 2022. But delays in land acquisition in Gujarat and Maharashtra put the project on hold. NHSRCL has accelerated the pace of its work.
