BJP-ruled MCD attempting to seal temples of Delhi, forcing them to pay property tax

In an unpleasant show of arrogance and disconnect from the bottom the BJP-ruled MCD is attempting to seal temples of Delhi and forcing them to pay property taxes, enlightened AAP Senior Leader and MLA Atishi. She said that BJP’s lust for cash is aware of no bounds and after robbery every citizen of Delhi, the BJP-ruled MCD is trying to extort from the pandit’s dakshina thaali too. She added that it absolutely was the primary time since the rule of Aurangzeb that somebody had dared to hunt taxes from temples. She asked the BJP leaders whether their plan of action of asking for votes in the name of Lord Shri Ram could be a gimmick. At a similar time, AAP’s East MCD LoP Manoj Tyagi said that forget sealing, AAP won't let the BJP-ruled MCD even bit the temples of Delhi.

AAP Senior Leader and MLA Atishi said, “The Aam Aadmi Party has been constantly exposing the rampant corruption taking place in the BJP-ruled MCD. At this point, I don't think we need to expose the BJP ruled MCD anymore because it is evident that they have completely looted and bankrupted the MCD. Under the rule of the BJP the MCD has been constantly failing to pay the salaries of its teachers, workers, doctors and sanitation staffers. They have been manhandling the MCD for just one purpose that is to fill their pockets through extortion and corruption. Every resident of Delhi is witness to the fact that all the BJP leaders care about is extortion and corruption. The moment somebody starts putting up lenters while constructing their house you can see how BJP councillors flock to that house to extort the owner."

She added, "The East MCD has sent notices to several temples saying that you must pay House Tax otherwise this temple will be sealed. In my opinion, this is the first time since the rule of Aurangzeb that somebody has dared to send such a notice to a temple. In 1679, Aurangzeb had imposed Jizya on temples. Today, in 2021, the East MCD has imposed property tax on temples. This is the real face of the Bharatiya Janata Party. They were extorting from whoever they could in the state but now they want to get a piece of the priest's dakshina as well? What kind of a government asks temples to pay property taxes?"She further stated, "At present there are two very contrasting governments running in Delhi. The first is the honest state government of Arvind Kejriwal. They collect taxes with full integrity and spend it on the welfare of the people of the state. It is the Kejriwal government that has been able to double the budget of Delhi in just 5 years. The CM resolved to send the elderly of the state on pilgrimage, to help them get darshan of Ram Lalla. On the other hand there is the BJP ruled MCD who asks for votes in the name of Lord Shri Ram but is threatening temples to pay taxes. It is simply shameful how they play with the feelings of the people of Delhi and think they can get away each and every time."Atishi concluded, "I want to ask the leaders of the BJP if their tactic of asking for votes in the name of Lord Shri Ram is just a gimmick and a method of cheating the people of Delhi. Does your true faith lie in extorting from temples being revered by lacs of people? Even the poorest of the poor end up donating whatever they can when they visit the temple. Does the BJP's faith lie in extorting from the temples when they should be making policies for their welfare? BJP leaders should be ashamed of their antics. AAP demands that this order be rolled back immediately."

AAP' East MCD LoP Manoj Tyagi said, "the manner within which the BJP has been wiggling with our feelings and religion could be a matter of nice distress.
