Birsa Munda Birtdhay: PM Modi to participate in Tribal Pride Day Mahasammelan this afternoon
The Government of India has announced that the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda will be celebrated as Tribal Pride Day.
Birsa Mundi's birth anniversary is celebrated on 15 November. Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the Tribal Pride Day Mahasammelan. The Government of India has announced that the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda will be celebrated as Tribal Pride Day. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Bhagwan Birsa Munda Memorial Udyan cum Freedom Fighter Museum in Ranchi through video conference at 9:45 am. Union Tribal Affairs Minister will also be present during the program.
Bhagwan Birsa Munda Memorial Udyan cum Freedom Fighter Museum is built in collaboration with Jharkhand State Government in the old Central Jail of Ranchi, where Lord Birsa Munda sacrificed his life. It will be a tribute to his sacrifice for the nation and tribal communities. The museum will play an important role in preserving and promoting tribal culture and history. It will also show how the tribals fought for the protection of their forests, land rights, their culture and nation building.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh to participate in the 'Tribal Gaurav Divas Mahasammelan' to be organized at Jamboori Maidan in Bhopal where he will launch several initiatives for the welfare of the tribal community at around 1 pm. The Prime Minister will launch the 'Ration Aapke Gram' scheme in Madhya Pradesh at the Tribal Pride Day Mahasammelan. Its objective is to provide monthly quota of PDS ration to the tribal community beneficiaries in their respective villages every month, so that they can get the right amount to get their ration.
The Prime Minister will also hand over genetic counseling cards to the beneficiaries on the occasion of the launch of 'Madhya Pradesh Sickle Cell (Haemoglobinopathy) Mission' during this conference. This mission is being launched to diagnose and treat patients suffering from sickle cell anemia, thalassemia and other hemoglobinopathies and to increase public awareness about these diseases. The effects of these diseases are being widely seen among the people of the tribal community of Madhya Pradesh.
