Now the National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken cognizance of the incident where IAS officer Harjot Kaur Bhamra, MD of Bihar Mahila Bal Vikas Nigam, asked a schoolgirl if she "wanted a condom too" when the student asked for cheap sanitary napkins. The National Commission for Women has sought a written explanation for these remarks. For this, the IAS officer will have to file a reply within seven days.
A school student from Bihar had asked the officer a simple question, "Can the government provide sanitary pads for 20 to 30 rupees?" Answering this question, IAS officer Harjot Kaur Bhamra gave a strange answer. He said, "Tomorrow you will say - the government can also give jeans and then why not beautiful shoes?"
