"Big Update on income tax returns - Central Government extends the date for filing income tax returns till March 15, 2022"

On Tuesday,the Central government proclaimed the point in time to file tax returns has been extended to March 15, 2022. Beside the filings of tax returns, the deadline for filing audit reports has additionally been extended.

This is the third extension granted filing for the 2020 - 21 tax return for companies. The initial RTI submission deadline for businesses was October 31, and those with transfer pricing transactions was November 30.

The move comes when people encountered difficulty issuing audit reports for AY 2021- 22 under the 1961 IT Act, the income tax service said.
