They have said that the purpose of the protest is not to create any problem for people or disrupt emergency services.
According to them, their call for Bharat Bandh is symbolic as they want to highlight their plight in a peaceful manner.
They have asked common people to join hands with them in their fight against the government.
The Bharat Bandh will start at 11 AM and continue till 3 PM. They have said that the timing is such that people can reach their office on time and by the time they leave the Bandh will be over, hence it will not cause any inconvenience to commuters.
Bharatiya Kisan Union Spokesperson Rakesh Tikait has said that emergency services can go on as it is. He even said that social gatherings like weddings and other functions can go on as it is.
The farmers have planned to block the national highway and toll plazas.
As the transport unions have come out in support of the farmers, it is expected that the supply chain of various products will get disrupted for a while on December 8.
It is also expected that the supply of fruits, vegetables, and other essential commodities will be hit in Delhi due to transporters’ voluntary support to the Bharat Bandh call.
Many taxi unions have also come out to support the farmers hence the cab services can also be available in a very limited number.
