Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary told the Lok Sabha on Monday that there is no proposal under consideration with the government to set up the 8th Central Pay Commission for central government employees.
The minister was asked whether the government proposes to ensure timely constitution of the 8th Central Pay Commission for central government employees so that it can be implemented on January 1, 2026. At least 7 pay commissions have been constituted since 1947. After every ten years, the central government creates a pay commission to revise the salary structure of government employees.
