Auto driver in Mumbai receives Rs.24 lakh to fund education of his grandchildren
There is no bigger religion than philanthropy and thousands of people in India did just that again, through crowd funding for an old auto driver called Deshraj who lives in Mumbai.

There is no bigger religion than philanthropy and thousands of people in India did just that again, through crowd funding for an old auto driver called Deshraj who lives in Mumbai.
Deshraj lost two of his sons and this made him take the responsibility of his daughter in law and his granddaughter to study and stand on her own feet.
So he started working for long hours and was happy that his granddaughter secured 80 per cent in her 12th board exams but they needed more money, SO Deshraj sold his house. But as she wanted to go to Delhi to do B.Ed. Deshraj had more means.
This story of his life and constant struggle was made viral by Humans of Mumbai, a site advocating philanthropy as a facebook user Gunjan Ratti called out to people to help him out while she also initiated a fundraiser for raising 20 lakh for Deshraj’s four grandchildren and daughter in law.
The cry out helped and through crowd funding, finally Rs. 24 lakhs were raised as an update was shared by Humans of Bombay revealed. Receiving a cheaque, Deshraj started crying and blessed the donors. This story has turned viral on social media and is trending now.
His story was also posted on Twitter by the Congress's Archana Dalmia with an appeal to Mumbai residents to help the auto driver. The post was retweeted by Milind Deora as well.
