Cricketer-turned politician Gautam Gambhir has alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party leader and the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has not condemned the violent act that took place in the capital on January 26, the Republic Day.
Cricketer-turned politician Gautam Gambhir has alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party leader and the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has not condemned the violent act that took place in the capital on January 26, the Republic Day.
According to him, it shows that Kejriwal wanted Delhi to burn.
He took to his Twitter handle and praised Home Minister Amit Shah for visiting injured Delhi Police personnel in the hospital.
Gambhir wrote, “Shri Amit Shah visited our bravehearts who despite facing life threatening situations showed restraint. But not a word of condemnation against the mob by CM @ArvindKejriwal. It is clear he wanted Delhi to BURN!”
His tweet has come in the response to Kejriwal’s today’s address in which he slammed the Delhi police for filing frivolous cases against the farmers and not arresting the real perpetrators of the violence.
Earlier on January 26, Gambhir had accused Kejriwal of playing politics by remaining quiet on the violence.
“Entire day has passed yet @ArvindKejriwal has not made a single comment against the mob that ravaged Delhi. Paltry statement by party handle is enough because votes in Punjab are more important!” Gambhir had tweeted on January 26.
He had also strongly condemned the hoisting of the Sikh religion flag on the Red Fort and wrote, “Anything apart from the Tricolor on Red Fort is an insult to everything this nation stands for! Where are the so called “leaders” & the pseudo liberal sympathisers with their bleeding hearts?”
The tractor rally carried out by farmers on Republic Day has turned violent when the farmers allegedly deviated from the routes allocated to them.
