Vivek Agnihotri's new film 'The Kashmir Files' has been released in theatres. This film is made on a very big issue of the 1990s. When Kashmiri Pandits were killed by terrorists, and they were forced to leave Kashmir. It was a mass exodus that forced Kashmiri Pandits to live as refugees in their own country. That status of his remains even today.
The central character of 'The Kashmir Files' is a boy named Krishna Pandit. His grandfather Pushkar Nath had to leave Kashmir in 1990. Even today it is his dream that he can go back to his home once. Krishna studies in a top college named ENU in Delhi. He stands in the college elections. The bottom line is that instead of believing what he has heard, Krishna himself goes to Kashmir and sees what is going on there. During this, he comes to know about the biggest secret of his life, which changes his perspective towards life and Kashmir.
In the film, Anupam Kher plays the character of a Kashmiri Pandit named Pushkar Nath, who was a victim of that barbaric Exodus. This character seems very close to him. He himself is a Kashmiri Pandit. And in emotional scenes, he talks in Kashmiri language, which helps in making his character authentic. Darshan Kumar is in the role of his grandson Krishna. In some sequences of the film, Darshan is seen as a college student. Although they do not seem to be college students in a convincing manner.
