Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken a big step regarding the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab. He announced the formation of an anti gangster cell in the state. He said in the meeting of top police officers that this cell would be headed by an ADGP level officer.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with the Superintendents of Police of all the districts, including the DGP, and officials of the Intelligence and Law and Order departments. The meeting took place at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh. In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that an Anti-Gangster Cell would be formed to combat gangsters in Punjab. This cell will be headed by an ADGP rank officer. It is worth noting that before this, Captain Amarinder Singh had formed the Organized Crime Control Unit. Former IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh was also there.
Earlier, he had a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners yesterday, in which he had given instructions regarding the arrival and purchase of wheat, but the way the opposition attacked him regarding the continuous killings, the fights over the possession of truck unions, etc. The government is feeling trapped in trouble about the target that has been targeted.
