The country's first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat died in a helicopter crash on Wednesday. The whole country was mourning his death, while on the other hand some people were making fun of it on social media. Saddened by these actions of fundamentalists, director of Malayalam films Ali Akbar and his wife Luciamma have decided to leave Islam and convert to Hinduism.
Filmmaker Ali Akbar announced on live on Facebook that he and his wife would leave Islam and convert to Hinduism. He also announced to change his name to 'Ramsimhan'. He said that even senior Muslim leaders and Islamic religious leaders did not oppose such action on behalf of Muslims. Such an insult to the brave son of the country is not acceptable. Akbar also said that he had lost faith in Islam.
Ali Akbar said in the video released on social media, 'I am taking off the chola I got since birth and throwing it away. From today I am not a Muslim. I am an Indian. This message of mine is for those people who have posted smiley laughing against India. On this post of Akbar, many people are opposing him, while many are also supporting him.
Apart from the live video, Ali Akbar had said in a conversation with a news website, 'Most of the people who laughed at the news of General Bipin Rawat's death were Muslims. He did this because General Rawat had taken tough measures against terrorists in Pakistan as well as in Kashmir. I cannot continue to associate with such a religion. However, he had also said that he would not force his daughters to convert and he would leave it to their choice.
